A counter concert, called Haqeeqat-e-Kashmir to highlight, the turmoil of the people over the last two decades was held, 10 km away from the Zubin Mehta ‘Ehsaas-e-Kashmir’ or ‘Feelings of Kashmir’ concert in Municipal Park in Srinagar. The event was organized to oppose the concert of Zubin Mehta. Hundreds of people participated in “Haqeeqat-e-Kashmir”.

Many singers, artists joined the concert and expressed solidarity with Kashmir. Valleys singer Irfan Bilal sung a Kashmir song depicting the sufferings and narrative of situation of past more than two decades.
Meanwhile Mastero Composer Zubin Mehta Performed in the Shalimar Garden amid heavy security. Ehsaas-e-Kashmir, the event, a first of its kind in Kashmir, was organised by the German ambassador to India, Michael Steiner.

Renowned conductor Zubin Mehta's planned concert in Indian-administered Kashmir has run into controversy with pro-freedom leaders and human rights activists opposing it.
‘Ehsaas-e Kashmir’ concert hit a controversial note with Kashmiri Pro-freedom leaders  calling it an attempt to digress from the human rights violations in the state. The separatists held a total shutdown of Srinagar in protest.
